Plenty of folks will recognise Jimmy from a certain TV show which we won’t mention. To be honest, we didn’t and what we discovered was a honest and talented singer- songwriter with a vocal range of wonder. From a quiet and lovely whisper to a belting chain saw, this young artist has range and passion which you feel with each verse and chorus. Have a look below at his bio and check out the stripped down video as well.
Jimmy Davis is one of Australia’s most dynamic and versatile performers, with a sky high vocal range reminiscent of Robert Plant meets Jeff Buckley, whilst heavily influenced by Tom Waits’s poetry. Jimmy is lyrically conscious and not genre restricted. Jimmy is no stranger to the spotlight after being mentored by Chris Isaak and Sheryl Louis (Fleetwood Mac’s manager) on national television. Furthermore, working with Melbourne’s Rapper/Songwriter ‘Allday’ and earning a place on Triple J’s Top 100 of 2015 with his hit single ‘Always Know the DJ’. Jimmy has also performed at Woodford Folk Fest, Byron Bay Blues & Roots Festival, plus countless gigs down the east coast of Australia while living out of his van. With release of his Mixtape Vol. 1 of 3 and his debut album in the works, Jimmy is devoted to sharing his music with the world whether that be on stage, busking on the street or singing by a campfire.
